Parts of Massachusetts could see some wintry weather this week.
The National Weather Service is forecasting that snow showers will impact areas largely along the coast Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
“Snow accumulations of a dusting to less than 1 inch are expected for most locations,” forecasters wrote on Tuesday. “However… a very narrow swath may see localized 2-3″ snow amounts with a low risk for up to 4”.”
Below, what local forecasters are saying so far about the potential snowfall.
NWS Boston: ‘The best chance of seeing 2+ inches of snow is along the south shore and, to a lesser extent, the north shore of MA.’
Dave Epstein: ‘Many, but not all areas see grassy coatings up to an inch in spots.’
Cindy Fitzgibbon, WCVB: ‘A more persistent band of snow may set up along the South Shore back to I-95 allowing for 1-2″ of accumulation.’
Matt Noyes, NBC10 Boston & NECN: ‘The combination of an incoming disturbance aloft + ocean moisture will create ocean-enhanced snow showers Tuesday night into Wednesday that will likely deliver the first AM commute snow-related slick spots in Eastern MA this season.’
Terry Eliasen, WBZ: ‘Scattered areas along the Coastline may get a small accumulation’
