One of the top 3 ice skating rinks in America is in Boston, according to USA Today readers

Boston Common, the nation’s oldest public park, has one of best ice skating rinks in America, according to USA Today readers.

The publication released a list of the best ice skating rinks in the U.S. on Friday, part of its 2023 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and Boston Common Frog Pond ranked No. 3.

The No. 1 ice skating rink in America is Guidant John Rose Minnesota OVAL in Roseville, Minnesota, which, at 110,000 square feet, is the largest outdoor refrigerated skating facility in North America, according to USA Today.

USA Today wrote the following about Boston Common Frog Pond:

Beginning in mid-November, The Boston Common Frog Pond transforms into an outstanding outdoor skating rink. Visitors and locals alike can lace up some skates for a session on the ice, sign up for lessons, or simply people-watch with a cup of warm hot chocolate in hand at the Pond Cottage.

The Frog Pond is gearing up for its 2023 Frog Pond Skating Spectacular during First Night Boston on Dec. 31. The free event will include performances by national and international competitive skaters such as Theatre on Ice of Boston, Team Excel Synchronized Skating, and Brooke Tufts, the 2023 Solo Dance Champion. The show begins at 6 p.m. and will be followed by fireworks.
